When my mother died I didn’t know what to do.
I read the book “The Jewish way in death and mourning” by Maurice Lamm a few months before she died because she had been so sick it wasn’t a matter of if, but rather when she would pass. I felt like I would know what to do when the time came.
But I just didn’t know what to do.
I thought to myself, I need a checklist!
So I decided to write a checklist!
But a checklist just about getting ready to sit shiva felt like it wasn’t enough.
After teaching my pesach course for the last two years, and making checklists and holiday guides for my students, I thought, wouldn’t it be great if everyone could go into a holiday or a Jewish event feeling the joy of the event.
More than that, even at the unfortunate events, wouldn’t it be great to know what to do in advance?
That is when I got the idea to write a book.
Not just any book.
I decided to write about how to get organized for Jewish holidays and Jewish Lifecycle events.
A book that married my mother’s exceptional ability as a hostess and my organizational skills, in her memory.
This book aims to help Jewish women (and men) everywhere know what to do in the event of a tragedy, but also to serve as a reminder of what to do before a happy occasion so that happy occasions don’t become stressful ones.
The book includes three sections:
- Jewish Holidays – how to organize yourself and your family for Jewish Holidays.
- Jewish Lifecycle events – how to organize yourself and your family for both happy and sad occasions that happen throughout life, like birth, divorce, and death.
- Adulting – solutions for organizing yourself in modern day life with a Jewish twist.
Every section has checklists and planning guides, and links to online printables and spreadsheets to go with the book.
This is the book you are not going to want to live without, a quick reference for all the events in Jewish life.
Of course you can find this information on the internet, but not on Shabbat or Yom tov when you need it most!
Book format is the most convenient form no matter your religious level.
It makes a great gift for someone graduating from highschool or getting married, but it is also the perfect companion for any family as it is an amazing resource for all situations in Jewish life!
So pre order your copy today, this is a limited time special price. Your early order will make sure we can get the book out to you by Chanukkah!
