Journey to Organization Podcast 85- LISTEN HERE
Buying the same things over and over again is such a drag!
It not only wastes:
🔘 time
🔘 money
🔘 energy
🔘 resources
but it is also extremely irritating!
If you buy the best quality stuff then in the long run you will save money, time, and resources.
(P.S. Best doesn’t always mean the most expensive!)
I sat down with Tara Button on my Journey to Organization Podcast to discuss how her website https://buymeonce.com/ has set out to help you do just that- buy it once and never have to buy the same thing again.
I have a lot of the products she recommends through her website and I gotta tell you, they are AWESOME
My favorites are the Darn Tough Socks, Jansport backpacks, and Tara’s book, A Life Less Throwaway: The Lost Art of Buying for Life.
Sure, some of these items may cost a little more upfront, but the cost per use ends up being so much less!
Not only that but when you buy higher quality stuff you end up replacing things less frequently. This saves money and helps you budget better. And because you spend less frequently, it keeps you more organized and clutter-free because you buy less stuff.
I know that today, a lot of stuff is designed to be a one-time use type item. But in a world where most things are not made to last, it is really a pleasure to use products that do!
Even more than that, high-quality products are usually made with superior materials that are not only healthier for us, but they are better for the environment and use fewer resources.
Usually, the conditions for the workers who make these products are healthier and they get paid a living wage. And fair treatment of workers, while is often not something we consider when shopping, is something we should ALL be thinking of before we purchase.
So invest in better quality and take the plunge towards creating a capsule wardrobe! You not only save time, money, and resources, but you help support domestic businesses and fair treatment of workers!
If you need help organizing your capsule wardrobe, or just organizing in general, book a consultation with me to see how we can work together!
